A toothless reconstruction can be a complete denture. But those of you who use these solutions know how many problems they can cause. Each time a patient uses a complete prosthesis, the force transferred from acrylic to the bone causes the gum to disappear. Especially in the jaw, there is a large reduction in the substrate for the prosthesis so that the support fails.
The implants provide additional fastening and fantastic prosthetic stability.
The number of implants required for prosthetics varies from 2 to 6, depending on the type of implant, the local anatomy conditions and the financial availability of the patient. The prostheses can be based on either the implants or on the mucous bone. When two implants are used, these are generally placed in place of the canines.
